With the recent light sprinkling of rain during Ellen & Dave’s wedding earlier this month, I caught myself reminiscing about another fantastic couple I worked with last year. Cheryl & Dave had an intimate Cape Cod wedding August 28th – so intimate in fact, that I photographed their wedding day as one of only seven guests. Their wedding day was one filled with a lot of strong emotions and beautiful, unique details; however, one detail that always comes to my mind had to do with the weather. Cheryl & Dave were not only madly in love, but they were fearless, as their beach wedding ceremony was held literally minutes before the beach was being closed off due to weather warnings of hurricane Danny sweeping through MA. Chatham’s news channel, NECN, was actually at the beach covering the story of hurricane Danny and video recorded part of Cheryl & Dave’s beach ceremony and interviewed them afterward.
Can you say creative way to receive a videographer pro-bono on your wedding day?! Check out the news coverage of hurricane Danny and a cameo of Cheryl & Dave’s wedding at the link below:
Dave was so excited about the news coverage, that he sent me an email after the wedding including the link covering the story of hurricane Danny *and* their wedding! What a great story to share with friends and family! Everyone who shared in their day spent the weekend relaxing at The Captain’s House Inn (known as one of the oldest and highest regarded bed and breakfasts on the Cape), and following the ceremony enjoyed an amazing dinner at the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club (with a breathtaking waterfront view and to die for cuisine!). Cheryl & Dave are both doing well; happily in love and still living in Lowell, MA. I truly love photographing intimate weddings, and it’s nice keeping in touch with the couples I work with. Dave actually signed up and attended several digital Photography workshops I taught through the Belmont Media Center earlier this year. I believe the photography bug has bitten him as well!
